Passenger boarding bridges

Main components of the Passenger Boarding Bridge (PBB):
Rotunda with rotunda column
Tunnel sections
Horizontal Drive Unit – for moving the PBB on the airport apron
Vertical Drive Columns
PBB Operator Cabin
The proposed model is a two or three-section PBB

The type of passenger boarding bridge (PBB) is selected individually based on the specific conditions at the installation site: distances between passenger boarding bridges and aircraft taxiways, height and location of the PBB floor, and the required types of aircraft servicing.

Detailed data on individual aircraft, docking heights, and PBB floor slopes, as well as aircraft positioning, is dictated by safety requirements and airport organization. The PBB is equipped with appropriate operator safety systems. The operator’s cabin is positioned to provide maximum visibility around the bridge, especially the aircraft to which the PBB is docked.

To improve visibility under the PBB, we install cameras whose view is displayed on a separate screen mounted on the operator’s console. The PBB is equipped with a set of limit switches that define the safety limits of the bridge’s operation within the manufacturer’s/service provider’s set limits. The PBB is manufactured based on the necessary safety standards applicable in the EU for mechanical and electrical equipment.

400 Hz Aircraft Power Supply System
The 400 Hz power supply system transmission is realized along the tunnel sections using pantographs. The aircraft power supply transformers are placed in the lower part of the PBB operator’s cabin. A system with a power of up to 180 kVA is used.

Winch
Used for retracting the aircraft power supply cable. It is installed above the operator’s cabin. We can propose a cable reeling system, which is the best method for protecting the cable and power plug from abrasion, extending their service life.

Air Conditioning
To air condition the PBB interior and maintain the temperature according to requirements, a ΔT = 4°C is assumed along the entire length of the bridge (at temperatures above 24°C). We use a 15 kW cooling and heating unit installed above the PBB operator’s cabin.

Communication – Telecommunications
We can implement any communication systems according to individual requirements.

Docking System
We install consoles and complete docking systems that work with the PBB control system.
